Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge had the pleasure of planning this gorgeous wedding celebration that took place at one of my favorite venues, The Four Seasons, Las Vegas Resort, on April 17, 2009 in 28 days! Yes, JUST 4 WEEKS!

That was the first time, believe it or not, I had the opportunity to squeeze about 6-12 months of planning into less than a month and I must say for the record that it was a very busy 30 days and one of the most unexpected pleasurable planning experiences I have had to date.

From the time I met the Bride & Groom (due to a privacy contract I signed with the couple, I am not at liberty to reveal their names or any images of them or guests), I quickly discovered this was going to be a fantastic and very memorable party for them and their guests.

With the assistance of Asst. Catering Director Dennis Silknitter of the Four Seasons that served a sumptuous 6 course wedding meal, I began assembling a team of some of Las Vegas’ top (and my favorite) wedding professionals to create this gorgeous, warm ambience set in tones of bronze, golds, reds and oranges to compliment the bride’s gown & love of beautiful, bright and warm colors.

The wedding party walked down a petal lined, high gloss red aisle to a collection of red & orange florals on pedestals. Guests dined under a fabric canopy accented with crystals and flowers, lounged on European style gold sofas & ottomans, at antique gold mirrored tables and a monogrammed bar.

The beautiful decor was created by Andrea Sage, Marian Menezes and Nina Sauter of Destinations by Design.

The bride wanted to treat their guests to an after-dinner show and boy, DID WE PUT ON A SHOW. Thanks to Bruce Sampson of Steve Beyer Productions, we assembled a parade of entertainment to dazzle guests including belly dancers, a magician, “Cirque” performers, ballroom dancers and a magician, all orchestrated by a DJ & and “All Night Mike”, a great MC who kept everyone happy, laughing and dancing on the red dance floor all night long (when they weren’t enjoying the hot wedding trend Cold Stone Ice Cream and Hot Doughnut Stations)!!

The bride looked gorgeous thanks to my ace makeup artist Barbara Jo Batterman (THE BEST) and all the incredible images here were taken by the uber-talented Ray Iavasile of Ray Anthony Photography. I picked Ray to work with this couple as I knew this wedding was a great match for his style and I’m sure you will agree, I was right on!

The rest of the week long celebration included golf at Shadow Creek Golf Course, a Maverick Helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, a family dinner at Charlie Palmer Steak and welcome in-suite receptions & brunches.

The event was a fabulous success which proved to me that when the stars align and you get amazing clients and wedding professionals to work with, planning a fabulous Las Vegas Wedding with great Style like this one in 28 days is a pleasure! THANK YOU!

Wedding Pledge-Wedding Concierge Honors Jacqueline Montoya, Wynn Las Vegas Weddings

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Jacqueline Montoya
Executive Director of Weddings @ Wynn, Las Vegas

I am delighted to be participating today in an industry wide initiative,2009 “Wedding Pledge” sponsored by BrideTide.com to honor those in the wedding industry who inspire us and are exemplary in their positive influence in the wedding industry around the country.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is proud to honor someone in the local Las Vegas wedding industry who first impressed and inspired me more than 7 years ago and, continues to inspire me to this day.

She is an example of class, style & professionalism & because of her influence, continually helps in raising the bar in making Las Vegas a luxury wedding destination.

She is a credit to her employer, the Las Vegas Wedding Industry and I will always be happily indebted to her for NOT HIRING ME all those years ago!

That person is Jacqueline Montoya, Executive Director of Weddings at Wynn, Las Vegas Resort.

In 2001 I was fortunate to meet Ms. Montoya in the most unfortunate of circumstances for a pre-scheduled job interview at Bellagio Wedding Chapels where she was their Director on…September 13, 2001. I knew 2 days before, nothing would be the same here in Las Vegas for some time but was impressed right away that she actually kept the appointment.

Fast forward another 18 months to early 2003 and I met Jacqueline again at Bellagio for a job interview after completing my June Wedding Inc. Certified Wedding Consulting Course. I was at the cross roads and apparently, during our interview, Jacqueline saw the road I was destined to travel & did not hire me to be a wedding coordinator for the Bellagio Wedding Chapels.

Again, a few years later I was delighted to find that she was now the Executive Director of Weddings for the new Wynn, Las Vegas Resort. I was privileged she had invited me to an exclusive VIP “FAM” event in April 2005 for Wedding Planners from around the country (which some of my planner colleagues who were there still talk about to this day!).

From that day on, I have had the distinct pleasure to collaborate with Jacqueline & her wonderful Wedding Consultants and assistants on some highly successful weddings, promote one another, share helpful information & enjoy each others successes.

Jacqueline had a vision for how Weddings at Wynn Las Vegas, from the elegant Wedding Salons to the ballrooms, photo, video, catering and more, should set the standard for the most luxurious experiences a couple could have in planning and celebrating their wedding in Las Vegas. From the quality of the flowers and decor to the wedding amenities and most of all, the luxury of the personal attention and customization and detail that each and every member of the Wedding department provides and every bride & couple wants & deserves; Jacqueline’s vision continues to make weddings at both Wynn, Las Vegas & Encore, Las Vegas the example of which so many other properties try to emulate.

She is a smart, savvy and stylish business woman and someone who inspires me (among others I’m sure) to continually do what I do with polish, poise and passion as well as warmth and compassion. Directly or indirectly, Jacquie has been an exemplary teacher for me over the years and a very positive force in my career; giving me an additional boost of confidence and encouragement to go out on my own in the first place and eventually establish my company, Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge.

So THANK YOU Jacqueline! You truly are a first class example of…”Las Vegas Wedding STYLE!!!”.

With Admiration & Affection,
Tracey

The performers of some of the city’s most loved shows, from “Phantom” to “Jersey Boys” & “Tony & Tina’s Wedding” certainly were all decked out to celebrate in their Easter finest for a very worthy cause.

These are just two of the incredible parade of Easter bonnet creations and of course I just had to share the two most wedding related ones with my readers.

The second annual “Las Vegas Easter Bonnet Competition”, a benefit for St. Therese Center, was held April 5 at Chippendales Theatre at The Rio Hotel & Casino.

St. Therese Center, provides outreach and services to more than 3,500 locals with HIV and AIDS.

According to the Review Journal article, the 2009 year’s fundraiser has brought in more than $12,000 in donations.

There are many people who have inspired me over the last 6+ years since I began my journey into this amazing world of weddings. Some of them know how much of an inspiration they have been to me and some don’t.

What they all have done, in one way or another, is left an indelible impression and example on how to continually do what I love to do better, with more polish, passion and poise. They have been a source of positivity for this amazing industry (whether they know it or not) that we collectively can be proud of.

As a matter of fact, as I write this, I know exactly who I will be writing about. I look forward to honoring that person here on the 21st.

Thank you to BrideTide.com, “The Wedding News Website”, for starting this wonderful project!

The Economy & Your Wedding-FOCUS on What is Important!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

I wanted to share with you a post I wrote a while back but feel the message needs to be rejuvinated. I look forward to your feedback. And so without further ado…

******************************************

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge knows these are very crazy times right now and a lot of you are wondering how life is going to look trying to deal with all the challenges ahead as we all navigate our way through this economic downturn.

It’s hard enough figuring out how to balance your household budget; never mind adding the costs of planning a wedding on top of that.

I get it! I really do! And while I am a realist, I am also an optimist who is going to focus (and help you do the same) on the positive opportunities, lessons and tips for planning and budgeting for your wedding during these challenging times.

Wedding celebrations are and should be a bright spot in our lives amongst all the other things that are getting us down because G-d knows we all need a reason to come together to focus on what is important in our lives; the people that we love and who love us and trying to build a better life and future for ourselves and our kids.

So here is my first piece of advice and these are the key words…

“focus on what is important”!

Right now is the perfect opportunity to let you really evaluate (if you are just starting to plan) or reevaluate what your priorities are and what ideals and values you hold most dear when it comes to celebrating your wedding. Everything you do and what and how you spend those very hard earned and precious dollars should be an extension of these priorities and ideals.

In the detailed questionnaires I give all my new clients, I ask them to consider the following…

· Provide three words that describe how you want your wedding to be remembered by you and your guests?

· Provide three elements of your wedding that you will absolutely NOT compromise on.

No matter what your budget is, think about these carefully, write them down and refer to them often to help guide you and keep you “focused on what’s important”, put your positive energy, your money and your time (all valuable commodities) throughout the months ahead.

And please do remember to also focus on what is truly MOST IMPORTANT; the loving relationship that you and your fiance have that is the foundation and the reason for having this wedding celebration. That is PRIORITY #1!

This is good planning advice in any economic climate but even more important when your pocketbook is tighter.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge would love to hear from you on this subject. Please comment here and let me know what important elements you are focusing on for your wedding, challenges, ideas…whatever you want to share. We can all use every bit of inspiration and advice there is from all of you.

Stay positive, stay focused and have a Stylish Day!
