"3.2.1 and Your Love is On…THE AIR" -Check out Faux Show.com!

Image first seen at Springwise.com

Ok, just when you think there is nothing left to the personalization market, Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge finds this very cool idea on one of my favorite brilliant idea sites; Springwise.com!

Personalized Radio Shows! How cool is this? I LOVE IT! Now you can broadcast your love to the world and not only star in your own video montage or love story but you could premier in your own customized radio show too (or someone may just surprise you with it as a gift)!

For now the concept and company is only available across the pond in England, but I have a feeling it will be making its way to our shores faster than you can say “3.2.1. and You are On the Air”!

The full description of the concept and company is below from the article on Springwise website.

*********************************************************************************************

Launched in November 2008 by two British radio presenters, Fauxshow creates personalized radio shows that put a recipient in the spotlight. Designed as an unusual gift experience, Fauxshows are most frequently produced for weddings and birthdays, although any request will be catered to. Customers pick a recipient’s favorite music tracks and submit anecdotes for the presenters to read out in the show. Arrangements are then made for friends and family to call in to Fauxshow and record messages about or for the recipient. Jingles and effects are added in the final stage of recording to make the show sound as authentic as possible. Around three weeks after ordering, the show arrives on CD, ready to surprise and delight.

Fauxshow is still a tiny start-up, and the presenters welcome calls from customers to discuss ideas. Pricing is GBP 200 for a 5-song, 5-message show, or GBP 250 for 8 songs and 8 messages. Other options are available on request.

There’s no stopping the personalization avalanche! And as Fauxshow demonstrates, you don’t have to be a major player to get in on the game.

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge is over-the-moon excited to tell you that a feature story I wrote about Las Vegas Wedding Style, titled “Your Vegas Wedding Style is Showing” (a little play on a past Las Vegas marketing campaign) is featured on the Little Black Book Blog of Style Me Pretty.com. Style Me Pretty is considered one of the top wedding blogs on the internet as a go-to source for “Style Obsessed Brides” as their tag-line states.

The article I wrote also features two of my favorite, fabulous, female Las Vegas photographic artists; Chelsea Nicole and Ashley Bartoletti.

I wrote the article as an interview asking 5 questions about what sets Las Vegas apart with the “Style” of weddings we do here, what we love about shooting/planning weddings off and on the strip and it includes some of the fabulous work of Ashley & Chelsea so you can get an idea of all the variety of venues, ambience and styles that we have available in this great city.

From beautiful mountains and lake views to the energy of the strip; the article is made up of the answers to these questions from both Ashley and Chelsea and from my perspective as a wedding planner.

Sincere thanks to Style Me Pretty and to Eddye!! I am so proud and honored that you have been so generous to publish my article (I hope you will see more of me in print in the future).

I hope that you enjoy the article and the beautiful images. It’s being blogged in 2 or 3 parts I believe.

Please do let us know what you think by not only commenting on the article at Style Me Pretty, but I know that Chelsea and Ashley will be thrilled to hear your comments on their blogs. I most certainly would appreciate your feedback here as well:).

Luck be an Irish Lady Tonight! Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

The Herradura “Green Agave Cocktail”

Well, Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge doesn’t have one lick of Irish in me that I am aware of , but hopefully I can enjoy some luck o’ the Irish today as everyone gets to be green on St. Paddy’s Day. Perhaps a good day to try some at the “Megabucks” machine later?:)

But, If this is your day, by birth, marriage, or by hook & crook…then hope you have a great one.

If you feel like starting off with something a bit more sophisticated before you hit the green draft, check out this very cool & festive cocktail I found in a post from Kori Ellis titled “More than just Green Beer” at She Knows.com (great living/lifestyle blog by the way!)

The cocktail, all decked out for the holiday, is called aHerradura (that’s a brand of Tequila) “Green Agave Cocktail” shaken with melon liqueur. Yummy! I love how how it’s garnished with a lime carved to look like a lucky shamrock. How stylish is that?

Not only a great idea for St. Paddy’s day, but for a modern touch for an Irish wedding as well.
Recipe provided by Herradura.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Herradura Silver tequila
  • 3/4 oz. melon liqueur
  • lime

Directions:

  1. Add tequila, melon liqueur and a squeeze of lime into a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake for 15 seconds.
  3. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with shamrock carved lime and serve.

This same post also offers some recipes for spin-offs on the cocktail called “Emerald Isle” (naturally) & an “Irish Whip”.

So I’ll raise me a fancy green cocktail & wish you all a happy day. Have fun and stay safe!

Virtually Yours-6 Sites for Sending Stylish, "Cents"sible, Sociable & Eco-Conscious Invites & Cards!

Logos - by lvwedconcierge on Polyvore.com

When I was a young girl, one of my favorite things to do was go the stationery/paper store and buy all kinds of papers, boxed card sets, pens, stickers and more. I loved sending them from camp, to my friends and used them to send “lovely notes” (that sometimes my mother had to remind me to write-thanks Mom!) of thanks to friends and family for gifts, sleep-overs, etc.

I STILL love going to the stationery store and visiting stationery sites and now it’s a bonus as looking for great invitations & correspondence is part of my job as a wedding planner.

There is NO substitute for the special touch that a hand written note that says “thank you” or “thinking of you” or “You are Invited” brings.

However, in these constant on the go days of instant internet communication, Face book, twittering, etc, many people (especially generations who have grown up with computers) are taking less time to write as they feel they are always “on” with their friends anyway. Sad:(

I will always recommend a hand written note when it comes to sending “Thank You” cards to your wedding guests but there are some really great sites these days that allow you to correspond with your friends, business associates and even wedding guests in a stylish, economical (since cost of stamps are going up again) and environmentally conscience way. Many of them also feature Social Media interaction as well with connectivity to Face book and twitter.

Here are 6 of my recent favorites and yes, I have tried and use them all!
  • Merry Ribbon: A real folded card that you open (with a custom design option) comes out of a real envelope. This is a very new product/site so the stock images are limited for now.
  • Iomoi E-Stationery: Stylish and oh so chic designs allow you to email cards and invitations with Style! Also LOVE their lucite trays, coasters, printed cards, calling cards and other products. One of my latest obsessions.
  • Plaxo Premium E-Cards: Part of the Plaxo suite of services that make it easy to send a greeting or customized greeting (upload your own).
  • Sendomatic.com: All of the many designs can be used as either a card, announcement or invitation for social or business use with RSVP, polling, mapping, weather features and more. Invitation delivery includes envelope or stylish blue box. Small fees to guest lists 5-100 ++
  • Pingg.com: Create a card or invitation with email, print, web, SMS, Facebook & twitter interaction. Very cool!
  • Evite.com: Online invitation site that has been around for a little while & still going strong!

I just found out about Pingg.com from my friend Rachel Globus at Event Solutions Magazine through twitter!

As a cost saving or time saving option for inviting people to a wedding or any kind of party, these sites
(especially the last 3) give you so many amazing options for communicating in Style with your guests.

Remember you should still follow proper letter writing and invitation etiquette, even online!

Virtually yours,
Tracey

Chameleon Chair Love-10 Fabulous Looks!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Orginally uploaded by Tracey Kumer-Moore

Speaking of Top 10′s…

Here are 10 fabulous looks that had Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge just drooling at the recent Catersource & Event Solutions Conference and Tradeshow, 2009 in Las Vegas.

The latest in haute chair rental couture for your wedding. They don’t call these chairs Chameleon Chairs for nothing you know.

I just love the belted rosettes and skirts, feathers and leathers (3rd down on the right was a purse!!) that are reflective of current fashion and home trends.

Of course, the one just makes my heart flutter is that Monet inspired “LillyBelle” (4th row, L) sleeve from Wildflower Linen. It is just too beautiful.

I know what your thinking and some are certainly priced at points that may be above your budget for a room full. However, you could use a more basic Chameleon Chair for your reception guest tables and treat yourselves to the over the top indulgence at your sweetheart. They come in bar height too, so adding just a few well placed “lookers” at the bar will make for a very swank spot all night!

This way, you can have achieve the wedding style and look you want, including a little extra eye candy that will make a statement worth the investment.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBIE: BORN MARCH 9, 1959

50 & FABULOUS!!!

“Romantacist” Barbie in Vera Wang, 2008

Elvis & Pricilla Bridal Barbie Set | 2008
(Probably the most famous Wedding Vegas Couple Ever!!)

Monique Lhuillier Bride Barbie Doll | 2006

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge wishes Barbara Millicent Roberts, aka “Barbie” a very happy 50th birthday.

Barbie is looking absolutely fabulous as she celebrates her 50th birthday today March 9, 2009.

In honor of the big day, a brand new “Barbie” doll will be unveiled today in what is the culmination of many celebrations, fashion shows (with living dolls), and new fashion lines and collectible dolls in honor of the birthday girl leading up to March 9.

Barbie is an American icon; a career girl, a cultural attache, a reincarnation of screen legends and a clothing designers ULTIMATE model with those very envious (unattainable) measurements.

Barbie as Bride is showcased on Brides.com in a retrospective gallery in their feature “Here Comes the Barbie” (where all images in this post were sourced). As with the everyday fashion trends she modeled and influenced through the decades, Barbie was, is and continues to be a reflection of bridal fashion trends and gown styles as famous designers from Badgley Mischka to Reem Acra to Vera Wang have sought to dress her in their most iconic styles.

Enjoy the gallery and if you are a real & true “Barbie Girl”, do make sure to visit her special Barbie 50th Anniversary website where you can read all about the anniversary happenings, history, videos, new collectibles, fashions, a blog and see the new doll.

Daylight Savings Time PSA: Spring Your Clocks Forward 1 Hour Sunday March 8!

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Set Your Clocks Forward 1 Hour Saturday night March 7th.

© Judith Wagner/zefa/Corbis

One of the signs that spring is happily just around the corner is when Daylight Savings Time
kicks in and we set our clocks to “spring forward” 1 hour. We lose an hour of sleep but we get
an extra hour of sunshine!

Daylight Savings time begins at 12:00 am March 8, so Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge
would like to offer this Public Service Announcement:

Please make sure to set ALL your clocks and watches 1 hour ahead before going to bed Saturday night.

And when I say make sure you set ALL your clocks and watches, I am
calling out to all you Sunday March 8th brides!

If you are working with a professional Wedding Consultant, they will most certainly be
reminding you, your wedding party, your venue and all event professionals when
confirming timelines of the time change so everyone will get to the chapel on time!

If you are not working with a wedding consultant, please make sure that you remind
EVERYONE (your groom, parents, wedding party, guests and your wedding professionals)
to ensure your wedding day springs into action as planned and the events flow smoothly so you can avoid
being the bride waiting at the chapel like in the picture above!!

Once you do, you can relax and bask in the extra hour of sunshine on your wedding
day this weekend.

“Black & White Ribbon” Linen from Cloth Connection

Invitation Ensemble Image appears courtesy of Gourmet Invitations

Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge has been having a blast working with an amazing local Las Vegas couple, Elizabeth & Andy, on their May 2009 wedding at the gorgeous Four Seasons, Las Vegas Resort

Elizabeth follows my blog (smart lady she is!) and discovered Tifany Wunschl from Gourmet Invitations in Detroit, MI when I featured her Seating Charts on my blog.

Being a couple who are very concerned about the environment and who wanted to make their wedding as “green” as possible including reducing paper, the Seating Chart/Menu was a stylish choice. Fortunately, Elizabeth & Andy decided to go one step further and work with Tifany on creating their wedding stationery ensemble as well.

After selecting their signature linen (seen above), through Cloth Connection, it became the element to tie their black and white and green-”green” wedding together. Elizabeth asked Tifany if she could create an invitation inspired by the linen design.

And boy oh boy, did she get inspired! What a beautiful creation this invitation ensemble is!

We are all so thrilled with the results which you can see featured on the Gourmet Invitations Blog and it is such a perfect reflection of this couple and I can’t wait to see them in person; along with the other reception pieces including the Seating Chart that started this creative ball rolling.

THANK YOU TIFANY for being such an amazing partner to work with and for your brilliant creativity in helping Elizabeth & Andy to bring their design vision to life.
