WELCOME 2008!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF THE LAS VEGAS WEDDING CONCIERGE’S FRIENDS!!
Isn’t this an incredible image? There is absolutely nothing like spending New Years Eve in Las Vegas!! I found this awesome image on a blog about Las Vegas called VegasTripping.com.
So goodbye 2007! It has been another incredible year for me and I had the pleasure of planning and producing some beautiful weddings for some very special couples, reached many new exciting goals both professionally and personally and met so many interesting and exciting people and saw so many amazing things that again re-inforced that I am truly blessed to be a part of this amazing world of wedding planning.
Being able to share all these experiences with you in my diary (or that’s “Blog” to you Mr. Ebon!) is the way I have been able to keep a piece of the year that was 2007 as a timecapsule to reflect back on and get energy from and inspired to take 2008 and make it even better!!
I hope you have enjoyed your visits here and I look forward to taking 2008 by storm IN STYLE with you!!
I have some exciting ideas up my sleeves for helping you kick your New Year into gear whether you are starting to plan a wedding or setting up your first home together. Stay tuned right here after the New Year for an announcement of something I am just bursting about that I know will have all of you doing the wedding planning happy dance (and I’ll be there boogying right along with you!)
Until then…Have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and my very best wishes to all of you for a spectacular and Stylish 2008!!

Go On-Smile!! Are You Ready for Your Wedding Day Closeup?

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

One of the most beautiful and stylish accessories you can wear on your wedding day is a healthy and gleaming smile!

Just ask Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry or Mandy Moore who all have gorgeous, sexy smiles and are fans of…

“GoSmile-The Smile Beauty Company” helps you acheive both with their line of teeth whitening products that are easy to use (many do not require water), compact and compliant with the new strict federal aviation codes so you can arrive at your Destination Wedding location and flash them a winning welcome smile right on through your wedding day (and of course every day after that too).

I love the Touch Up On the Go Smile Refreshers that come in a variety of different flavors, that are stylishly small (they are packages as small ampuoles), yet pack a punch at removing coffee and tea stains, keep breath fresh and promote good oral hygiene. (Hey, I used to manage a dental office and my brother is a dentist).

These products are definately a new addition to my Concierge Emergency Kit in 2008 to make sure my couples and their wedding parties all have beautiful smiles for gorgeous photographs and video.

You can purchase GoSmile products at their website at GoSmile.com and also at Sephora Stores (how I love Sephora) and Sephora.com, Beauty.com and Drugstore.com.

Wishing You a Merry Christmas from Las Vegas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM FABULOUS LAS VEGAS!!

Christmas trees and penguins and flying reindeer, OH MY!!

The holiday season in Las Vegas is really quite fun and no hotel quite does Christmas like the Bellagio!!

The Bellagio Conservatory is one of my favorite places to visit any season, but the Christmas display is just so much fun and is the epitome of how Las Vegas does the holidays in true Las Vegas Style!!

Although we won’t have a “White Christmas”, it sure does feel festive here and we are all awaiting the arrival of “The Big Guy”! Do you think Santa brings Elvis along for the ride when he hits Vegas?

If you are considering celebrating a Destination Las Vegas Wedding close to or over the holidays, it is a great time to be here and you can take advantage of great scenery and decor, fabulous weather and Vegas Holiday spirit and hospitality!

I am one of those people that celebrate “Christ-Ma-Kah” or “Chan-a-Mas” as I am Jewish and my husband is Christian and we celebrate each other’s holidays and it’s wonderful to be able to have him and my step-daughters embrace my traditions and likewise, me embrace theirs out of love and respect.

No matter how or what you celebrate at this time of year, celebrate it with your whole heart and I hope that your holidays are filled with good health, fun, love and good cheer!!

Fondly,
Tracey Kumer-Moore, JWIC

The Wedding Concierge’s Parents Visit Las Vegas

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007
My parents are visiting me from Toronto this week so while you are reading this, I have kind of cleared most of my schedule and am off playing Las Vegas Concierge/travel companion to spend as much time as possible with them (I only get to see them about every 4-6 months).

While I was getting ready for their arrival, I was thinking about them and how they raised me with all the good values and the right warnings about life of course, but also how the characteristics they each passed onto me has influenced my profession as a Wedding Consultant…what did I get from them that makes me love what I do so well to be Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge?

My Mother: My mother has an amazing sense of Style!! She has beautifully decorated two homes (the home I grew up in was featured in a local interior design article) that managed to feel like homes and not like museums. She has been the defacto wedding planner/designer for many of her friends children’s Bar Mitzvah Parties and Weddings, their unofficial interior designer, etc.
She was a major part of co-producing an annual local two-day festival for women in the 80′s that included fashion shows, a trade-show, celebrity chefs and lectueres (and even a visit from Brian Mulroney who was campagning for re-election as Prime Minister of Canada).

She is an uber-multi-tasker and manages to have a bunch of “balls in the air” and never gets phased if one drops temporarily. She has a truly loving heart and tells it like it is and always taught me to be gracious and send “lovely notes” to everyone that did something nice for me (gifts, stay-overs, etc.). These are just some of the things my mother gave to me.

My Father-One of the hardest working people I know who’s career is so integral to his life. Yes, he kvetches (complains) but I know that he identifies so strongly with it, it’s a part of him, like Wedding Planning is so much a part of me!

I must say, I am my father’s daughter (my husband even jokingly calls me by my dad’s name when I get in that zone), in the sense that we both have OCD when it comes to being punctual, being neat, organized, careful, staying on top of tasks to be done and thinking things to their logical conclusion and the consequences of not following through… I can hear him now asking me “did you take care of it..?” THAT most important aspect of what I do as a Wedding Consultant-timelines, layouts, figuring out the best way to put it all the puzzle pieces together (actually, it’s my brother who is the puzzle wizard in our family). Following through and keeping my word as best as I possibly can and earning one’s trust and being loyal..these are just some of the things my father gave to me.

When I became a Wedding Consultant 6 years ago, all the characteristics and all the life lessons and values I was instilled with from my parents finally found their place inside me to make me what I am today…Tracey Kumer-Moore, JWIC..Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge Wedding Consultant. I guess I call on my parents every day in some way every time I work with a couple to ensure their planning experience with me is a positive one and their wedding is a beautiful and memorable day…for all the right reasons!

I hope you are having a Stylish week and I will check in soon!

"Blog Taggers" & the People Who Love Them!

Sunday, December 16th, 2007
Sounds like the next episode of The Dr. Phil Show, doesn’t it? Although I don’t think this condition is curable, and shouldn’t be because truthfully, it is a really cool way of communicating with our friends near and far and Dr. Phil would propably think it was a good exercise in self expression…

So the next “Tagger” on the show is my friend Mark Kingsdorf, the Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultant in Philly who has tagged me yet again to do a blog list. Happy Christmas to you too, LOL!! I’m 0-2 now but I’ll get you back one of these days, hehe!

It’s nice to know that people are out there reading and interested in what I have to say on my blog and that I have friends out there who care enough to send me all these fun things to post:)!

So here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So 7 weird/random things about me, eh? (Yeah, I’m Canadian if you didn’t already know and I never say “eh”…but this doesn’t count).
1) I am the youngest grandchild of 19 on my mother’s side (she is the younges of 9) and with all the grandchildred and great granchildren, I have almost 100 cousins!

2) I can’t wink an eye (when I try I look like I have a bad twitch) & I am a terrible whistler (which I obviously didn’t inherit from my dad because he is the king of whistlers).

3) I moved to Israel for a year after high school and lived on a kibbutz, was in the army (for a week) and learned how to shoot an M-16 rifle (I’m a pretty good shot actually) and volunteered in the childrens ward at Mt. Sinai Hospital. It was one of the most amazing years of my life (so far).

4) After highschool I wanted to be a journalist (I first became a dental asisstant, then a dental office manager and then a Wedding Consultant) but I have come full circle because I get to write here now and I also write a newsletter for my Las Vegas NACE chapter.

5) My favorite book of all time-Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk (the movie starred Natalie Wood & Gene Kelley which I also love) about a young Jewish girl from an upwardly mobile family in the 30′s who longs to break free and find herself and her place in the world & learns some very interesting things about herself. Her story resonated very strongly when I read it back in my late teens and inspired me in many ways and even now, all these years later, it’s still a good read (even though I hated the ending and still do).

6) I love SpongeBob Squarepants (so does my husband)!! We own at least 4 seasons on DVD. I have to watch at least one episode (ususally it’s always 2) and its generally after I finish watching the news because Spongebob always makes me smile and laugh and can’t we all use some of that? I think if the terrorists could just watch some Spongebob, everything would be OK!

7) Pasta, Pasta-I crave it; spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, fettucini alfredo (yeah, I know how bad it is for me but I can’t help it). It’s my ultimate comfort food.
All right, now it’s your turn…
1. My friend Jeannie Ward, “The Wedding Jeannie”
2. Jody Taylor Smith of “Good Taste Events” (who has a great sense of humor & I can’t wait to hear your answers!)
3. My friend & part-time mentor Andy Ebon of the Wedding Marketing Blog
4. My friend Jodi Harris, the CEO of Fun at Sight N’ Sound Events in Vegas.
5. Jennifer Johnson, the OC’s Finest Wedding Planner
6. Amber Gustafson of Amber Events
7. Risa Provenzio of Romanza Events

Las Vegas Weddings-The Sky’s the Limit!!

Friday, December 14th, 2007
I love Las Vegas and I LOVE weddings and when I get the opportunity to be quoted in a prestigious wedding publication like Destination Weddings & Honeymoons to talk “Las Vegas Weddings”, well it’s like double the fun and pleasure for me!!

Look for me in the article titled “Las Vegas Vows: Best Bets for Every Style” and I’m quoted right along with the very best of the best from Wedding experts at Wynn Las Vegas Resort to the Ritz Carlton, Lake Las Vegas!
I have included the quote here and a link to read the article online, but it looks so much nicer in print on your desk so go grab the magazine at your nearest bookstore & check it out!

The Sky’s the Limit
Some brides choose Vegas for practicality; others are drawn by the city’s “anything goes” motto — especially those for whom money is no object. “Since there are so many fabulous celebrity events held in Las Vegas, we’ve got some of the best florists, bakers, designers, photographers and musicians right here in town,” says Tracey Kumer-Moore, of Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge. “If you can think it up, they can get it done.”

Leigh-Anne & Todd-"An Officer & A Gentleman"

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

As far as “photo finishes” go, this one could not be any finer than the beautiful images captured by Robert Valenca Photography (visit his blog to see more “sneak peek images)from my last wedding of 2007!!

Leigh-Anne & Todd are both officers in the United States Navy and wanted to have a fun Destination Las Vegas wedding with Las Vegas STYLE surrounded by their family and friends. They wanted to honor Todd’s familie’s Irish background & some of Leigh-Anne’s Southern Style. That wasn’t hard as Leigh-Anne’s charm, graciousness and the warmth and hospitality of this couple was evident in every little detail they planned.

And boy, we did it ALL-A fabulous wedding at the exclusive House of Blues Foundation Room on the 43rd floor of Mandalay Bay Resort with one of the most phenomenal views of the Las Vegas strip; a military “Sword Arch” grand entrance for the bride and groom led by an Irish bagpiper; elegant strings for the ceremony; the largest “Red Velvet” Tower of Roses cake I have ever seen and…of course, ELVIS! Yes, you heard it, a Stylish & elegant wedding with Elvis or should I say “Elvii”(the real impersonator is in the white jumpsuit and the one in the black is the groom’s friend) who rocked the wedding & had the ladies young & old swooning & put everyone in a party state of mind.
It was just a great day and just so much fun; full of laughs and smiles; they just soaked up all the love of their family and friends & thoroughly enjoyed every minute. That’s the way it should be & it’s a thrill to be a part of seeing two people that happy &helping make the day they envisioned come to life.
Leigh-Anne & Todd, it has been a pleasure and honor to know you and be part of your wedding and your lives. May your life together be blessed with good health, good luck, joy and MUCH LOVE ALWAYS!
Thank you to the fabulous wedding team that helped make Leigh-Anne & Todd’s a beautiful day to remember…Venue: House of Blues Foundation Room, Floral & Decor: Floral 2000, Cake: Freed’s Bakery, String Duo: Classical Entertainment, Bag Piper: Baskow & Associates, Elvis: Harry Shahoian as Elvis, Hair & Makeup Styling: Makeup in the 702, Videography: Document Event Videography, Transportation: Alan Waxler Group Chartered Services & Bell Trans Limousine.

Better Late (very late) than Never-The Wedding of Kelly & Andy

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

The video you are viewing is of a wedding I had the pleasure & honor of producing and directing in June of 2006. I realize I am a bit off in terms of timeliness but I finally figured out that I could copy the code and post it on my blog (who knew?)

Kelly & Andy are both deaf/hearing impaired and so were about 90% of their family and guests at this wedding.

Being a part of this couple’s life and planning this event was one of the most rewarding experiences of both my professional career as a wedding consultant and as a human being. Every time I watch this, it reminds me of what a great couple they were to work with and how much love and care went into planning an event such as this and the multitude of things we had to consider from the height of flowers so that interpreters were not obstructed to note pads & pencils on the tables for drink orders and blinking lights to the interpreter learning all the songs Elvis sang in American Sign Language!

I believe I helped Kelly and Andy immensley with planning an event that accomodated their physical limitations and those of their guests, but did not limit their celebration of their style and love in any way whatsoever (as you can plainly see it was one great pary!!) What they gave to me though was immeasurable; a true understanding of the meaning of the word “communication” in every aspect of life, both professionally and personlly and that no matter how you say it, hear it or see it, the words “I Love You” and “I Do” are the most beautiful words in the world.

Thank you to the amazing Wedding Team that made this beautiful day possible…
